Balfour Beatty acquires Strata Construction for exposure to affordable housing market
Infrastructure group Balfour Beatty (AIM: BBY) has acquired Doncaster-based Strata Construction, which specialised in the construction of affordable housing for £10.3 million in cash.
The company will form part of Balfour’s fully owned construction services business Mansell's Midlands & North Division, which currently has little exposure to the affordable housing market in the Yorkshire region, Balfour Beatty said in the statement.
Strata has a network of framework contracts with resident social landlords and also has experience in the education and healthcare sectors.
